Coldplay and Oxfam in the fight against poverty
40 percent of the people on our planet—more than 2.5 billion—now live in poverty, struggling to survive on less than $2 a day. They bear the brunt of global crises such as rising food costs and climate change. Coldplay and Oxfam have been working together to end hunger, poverty, and injustice since 2002.

Viva Oxfam, goodbye poverty
Since the 2002 A Rush of Blood to the Head Tour, Oxfam has toured with Coldplay all over the world to talk to fans about how they could do their part to end global poverty.
During the Viva La Vida Tour in 2008, Oxfam volunteers did a spectacular job recruiting fans to help Coldplay and Oxfam put an end to poverty. In 2008 the band played huge shows across 3 continents and 18 countries. 19,827 new members were recruited by 550 volunteers in 25 cities in the USA alone!
